Robert Pittman is a media executive and founder of several media and entertainment entities known worldwide. Among these entities are MTV and AOL and the IHeartMedia group. Pittman is a Mississippi native who got his start in the media industry when he programmed stations in places like Pittsburgh, where he stayed until he got a shot programming at WNBC based out of New York City. After his stint in New York, Pittman began to build upon his career; Overseeing MTV and its rise, facilitating the company Time Warner as chairman and CEO, and forming the Pilot Group which is an investment firm with several large controlling interests in Fortune 500 companies. He is the current Chairman of IHeartMedia Inc. and to this day works on the advancement of the company’s “digital advancement”.
